The best of both worlds. Roosterkoek meets Garlic Bread. Two South African braai favourites merged into the ultimate braai accompaniment. Heat it directly on the braai grid or in the oven ~ see the heating instructions below.

INGREDIENT DECLARATION

Wheat Flour (gluten), Water, Yeast, Sugar, Salt, Bread Improver, Preservative: Calcium propionate.

Filling: Vegetable oil [(palm fruit mesocarp) preservative: potassium sorbate E202], Garlic (15%) [vinegar, water {Preservative sodium benzoate}, Dried Parsley.

HEATING INSTRUCTIONS

Remember, these roosterkoek have already been grilled - you only need to heat them through and let the butter melt... Remove them from their packaging first - no foil required.

Braai: Place the braai grid over evenly distributed direct coals and allow to heat for 5 minutes. Lightly grease the grid and place the rolls directly on it for about 5 minutes.

Oven: Preheat oven to about 180ºC/350ºF. Place directly onto an oven rack for about 5 - 7 minutes.

It's recommended to turn them over half way through to assist the butter to coat each side evenly.

Serving Suggestion: cut them along the grill lines to make little finger sandwiches, one is good to share as a snack...
